Honey Bee Hill Films, the Murfreesboro, TN-based moviemaking group, announces the entry of its premiere short film, Would You Cry If I Died?, in the 2006 Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Festival of Media Arts Faculty Video Competition. “The BEA is a highly respected, prestigious group and I’m delighted to enter our little film in the competition,” said Bob Pondillo, writer and producer of the short movie.
The competition is opened to all college media faculty nationwide and will be blind reviewed by a jury of peers and professionals. Pondillo is an Associate Professor of Electronic Media Communication at Middle Tennessee State University near Nashville.
Each entry is evaluated on the effective use of the medium, creativity, production values, technical quality and message design. “We worked hard and with lots of heart on this movie,” Pondillo said. “I’m confident our film will demonstrate efficacy in each of these crucial areas,” he said.
The Festival of Media Arts competition is part of the national BEA Convention to be held in Las Vegas in April 2006.

Honey Bee Hill Films, the Murfreesboro, TN-based moviemaking group announces its next film project. “It’s a script called Time Crow, and all the action takes place at a swingin’ New Years Eve party,” said writer/producer Bob Pondillo. This is the follow-up project to Would You Cry If I Died?, a short film released by the company in September 2005.
“Time Crow explores some very important issues,” said Pondillo, “The concept of time and temporality, love, family, life and death are all essential dimensions of the human condition. I want to explore these things in an entertaining way.” The movie is a comedy-drama, “Sort of like life,” said Pondillo.
The screenplay is about a man who comes face to face with Father Time a few minutes before midnight on New Years Eve. “A few who have read the script have compared it to a Twilight Zone episode, which was not my intention but is a great compliment as far as I’m concerned,” said Pondillo. He explained the movie is actually “very spiritual and complicated calling upon ancient symbols, rituals and beliefs.”
